The launch... probably not so cold and calculated as all that. A decision as stupid as that could not be made with cold calculation. That probably came later, once he realized how many lives it would have to take to get what he wanted, perhaps a near miss with the authorities. After all, this Kevin stands as perfect proof that he'd not been the monster he became, at the start. He'd grown into it.

She nods back toward the house.
"I doubt either of you understands each other so well as you think. Kind of funny, isn't it?"
